On Oct 30, National Health and Family Planning Committee (NHFPC) released an announcement about 1 new food additive, 2 new flavorings, 1 new source of enzyme preparation, 2 new nutrient fortifiers and 6 food additives with expanded scope. The specifications are attached to the announcement.
 
By November of 2017, China has amended its food additive standard (GB 2760-2014) for 7 times. Due to there is not consolidated version, Antion will keep you informed on every amendment.

Usage: Can be used at an appropriate level in all categories excludes the foods listed in Table B.1 in GB 2760-2014
One Enzyme Preparation with New Source
β-glucanease from Penicillium funiculosum is allowed.
The enzyme preparation shall comply with the National Food Safety Standard for Food Enzyme Preparations (GB 1886.174-2016).
 
2 New Nutrient Fortifiers
1.    (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid, glucosamine salt
Usage: can be added into solid drinks at a range of 600 μg/kg – 6000 μg/kg (calculated as folic acid).
 
2.    Galacto-oligosaccharidesGOS)(sourced from whey permeate
Usage: can be added into infant and young children formulas and complimentary foods for infant and young children at a level of total dietary fiber ≤ 64.5 g/kg.
